Megastar Amitabh Bachchan [Images], who was hospitalised in Delhi Monday after complaining of a mild stomach disorder, was admitted to the Leelawati Hospital in Mumbai Monday night.
However, hospital authorities refused to divulge any further information although they confirming that the superstar had been admitted there.
Bachchan had complained of a mild stomach disorder in Delhi and undergone treatment at the Escorts hospital there.
Leading cardiologist and Director of Escorts Naresh Trehan maintained that Bachchan's illness was "nothing serious and just a normal irritation in the intestine".
"He came with complains of pain in the abdomen for which we have investigated him. Nothing serious has been found and he is now being discharged," Trehan told reporters earlier.
He said doctors conducted several tests, including those of the blood, ultrasound treatment, x'ray and CT Scan.
Asked why Bachchan was admitted to Escorts, an heart institute, Trehan said, "He knows me, he knows the doctors here, and we are the best hospital in this part of the world. It's true, I am serious."
Asked whether it was a case of food poisoning, he said, "It was something like that."
Bachchan and his family members had come to Delhi in the small hours of the day after attending a function to commemorate his litterateur father late Harivanshrai Bachchan's birth anniversary.
Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mulayam Singh had visited the superstar in hospital.
